About MathML on this site
MathML is used to deliver the equations that appear in the dictionary. For full details, see MathML Help.
If your browser can handle MathML, it is probably preferable to use MathML as it gives a better appearance. Otherwise, you can view images of the equations. The images may take a while to download, and may not align correctly or exactly match the text in size.

Your MathML preference
We attempt to detect whether your browser can handle MathML, however you can override that decision by setting your preference:
How your preference is saved
- Your preference is stored in a "cookie" on your computer. You must have cookies enabled to use this feature.
- The cookie contains your preference and no other information and will not be sent to any other site.
- The cookie will be removed when you close your browser unless you choose to save your preference permanently.
- You can change or delete your preference later using this form or you can delete the cookie using your browser's cookie options.
